The management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University , Awka, Anambra State has declared Monday a lecture-free day following the visit of the acting Vice- President , Prof. Yemi Osinbajo to the state.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the Director , Information and Public Relations of the institution , Dr . Emmanuel Ojukwu, the event slated to commence at 10, would be chaired by the Chief Justice of Nigeria , His Lordship, Hon. Justice S . N . Walter Onnoghen.
The statement read in part, “ The management of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University , Awka has declared tomorrow , Monday , 12th June , 2017 as a lecture- free day .
“ This is with regards to the coming of the acting President of Nigeria , His Excellency Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, and some eminent Nigerians for the the 50th conference of the Nigerian Association of Law Teachers.
“ The event is scheduled to hold at the university auditorium by 10am.”
The National President, Nigerian Association of Law Teachers, Prof Godwin Nwabueze Okeke, had in a statement, announced that the conference with the theme; Law, Security and National Development would be handled by former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Prof Chukwuma Soludo.
He said the lecture will serve as the contribution of Law teachers in Nigeria to finding a lasting solution to the nation’s security challenges, which will engineer national development in the country.
